Quick links to awesome

It's been a while, so here's a few randomly cool movie and movie-related things I've been meaning to post for a while. It's The Dark Knight Rises, The Dark Tower, G.I. Joe 2, and Marvel's continuing plans for world domination, if you're interested. And why wouldn't you be? Click ahead to read all about it.

All sorts of stuff from The Dark Knight Rises

I've just been very remiss when it comes to posting about this movie, though I got the biggest thing, which was the photo of Catwoman a few days ago. Anyway, there was the teaser trailer that came out about a month ago, and then there was a glimpse of a Tumbler on set, and finally a look a possible new Bat-vehicle during the Pittsburgh filming. There's also been a bunch of other spoilery set pics from the filming. Anyway, the teaser promises the film will be "The Epic Conclusion to The Dark Knight Legend," and while I don't doubt the film's epicness, there's this rumor (which is awesome) that points out that Batman isn't going away anytime soon.

The Dark Tower isn't dead yet

When Universal decided to pass on Ron Howard's epic adaptation of Stephen King's epic series (yeah, it deserves two epics), I figured the project was dead, but apparently Howard and Imagine Entertainment are looking to get this made and they've got big-name star Javier Bardem attached for the lead role of The Gunslinger.

G.I. Joe 2 is picking up steam

After the announcement that the Justin Bieber movie guy was directing G.I. Joe 2, things have actually started looking up for the sequel to one my favorite worst movies. First we heard The Rock was going to be putting in a appearance as Roadblock, and the big news is that Bruce Willis has been cast as original G.I. Joe, because really is there anyone else that screams classic action hero? I don't think so. And they've cast a bunch of other people, like almost-Wonder-Woman Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye, and badass Ray Stevenson as Firefly, plus they've got RZA as Blind Master. Oh and they're bringing back Channing Tatum (Duke), Ray Park (Snake Eyes), and Byung Hun-lee (Storm Shadow). So there will be ninjas and guns. I approve.

A Marvel Superhero to show up on Castle

You know Castle? It stars Nathan Fillion, so you should. Well as part of the huge conglomerate that is Disney/Marvel/ABC, the news was dropped that a Marvel hero will be making an appearance on the show. Unfortunately, it may be no more than a Halloween cameo, but we can always hope. But, for rumor's sake, lets say that turns out that Fillion's author Rick Castle has an ex-Marine brother named Frank, whose family is brutally murdered... I know, it's awesome. Right?
