Movie News: New suit for Captain America and more!

Lots of news on the movie front, especially from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Get a look at some revealing concept art after the jump. Plus, a Star Trek actor joins Guardians of the Galaxy. Click on.

Guardians of the Galaxy fills out the cast

If reports are to be believed (so many grains of salt should be taken), then Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has cast Zoe Saldana (Avatar, Star Trek) as the intergalatic assassin Gamora (right). Appropriate jokes include: "I thought she had was the blue girl," or "I thought her roommate was the green one." Gamora was recently given a makeover in the comics that included--you know--clothing. Also reportedly joining the cast, Lee Pace (The Hobbit, Pushing Daises) as an unnamed villain, rumored to be The Collector, since Ophelia Lovibond has been cast as an aide to The Collector. Also cast: Merle (Michael Rooker) from The Walking Dead.

Did Joss Whedon just reveal the next Avengers?

Speaking on the red carpet at the Iron Man 3 premiere, Joss Whedon mention adding a brother/sister duo to the movie. Now the most obvious characters that fit that description are long-time Avengers Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. The complication being that they happen to be mutant twin children of Magneto, whose film rights are owned by Fox. Kevin Feige explained last year that the characters are available provided certain details are ignored. Whedon also implies that Robert Downey Jr. will return for Avengers 2, though the actor has been clear that no deal is yet in place.

Concept art from and set photos reveal Captain America's new look

ComicBookMovie.com got hold of this image that shows off the new look for Captain America when he goes up against the Winter Soldier, spy photos from the set have confirmed this is indeed the new suit. Meanwhile, UFC Champion Georges St-Pierre has joined the film as Captain America's single greatest foe, Batroc the Leaper! Calling it now, Avengers 2 will see the team assemble to bring down the jumping Frenchman. The Russo brothers have also cast some Robert Redford guy as a possible villain, but don't let that fool you. It's all about the Leaper. Also, here's some concept art of Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Meet the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

ABC has officially picked up the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show, retitled as Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and along with the pickup comes the agents official ID cards. We have Not-dead everyman Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg from The Avengers); Pilot and weapons expert Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen from Stargate Universe); a pair of nerds Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge); deadly Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton); and Skye (Chloe Bennet) who sounds like a geek. Counting Coulson of the Captain America trading cards, that makes four geeks out of the six cast members. Sounds like Whedon show. The first promo should be released any day now.
