Week Links: Reviews and streaming and stuff

Here are the links of the week. It's been another busy week, with work and writing taking up most of my time, but I still managed to find a few minutes to blog.

io9's awesome review of Breaking Dawn

I haven't seen Breaking Dawn yet. I probably will at some point, though it's not exactly a movie I'm rushing out to see. However, io9's Annalee Newitz (whose movie reviews are generally excellent) has a wonderful perspective on this latest Twilight movie. Apparently it's spoiler heavy, but I recommend the read even if you have no intention of seeing the movie: In Twilight: Breaking Dawn Bella Becomes a Supernatural Version of Octomom.

Netflix gets Arrested Development

A while ago, I posted about the return of Arrested Development, and now a new announcement brings it closer to reality. Netflix has secured the exclusive rights to the series. It's not the first exclusive series for Netflix, but it's certainly the most high profile.

Star Trek 2 still on its way

It's moving along slowly but surely. The sequel to J.J. Abrams' Star Trek is reported to start filming in January to open in summer of 2013. No word yet on the villain or new casting, though rumors range from Khan to Tribbles, with Klingons being more likely. Read more at /Film.
