Avengers and other superheroes

There's just so many cool little tidbits of information floating around. For example, who knew I'd ever consider news even remotely Justin Bieber-adjacent to be worth reporting? Or care about anything related to Kevin Costner?

Avengers Villain Revealed?
Rumor has it Marvel has whipped up a brief trailer to run with Thor and/or Captain America that apparently reveals the villain of Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers. I won't spoil it, yet, but it's awesome.

John Chu to direct G.I. Joe 2
I'm actually a little embarrased by the fact that I liked the first G.I. Joe movie, despite--or perhaps because--of how ridiculous it was. Now John Chu has signed on to direct the sequel. This is the John Chu whose Never Say Never: Director's Fan Cut in currently in theaters. Still, a movie based on action figures by the guy who directed the Justin Bieber movie isn't the most insane movie in production. That would be Battleship, the movie based on a board game starring a swimsuit model and popstar fighting aliens. I didn't make that up.

Viggo Mortensen in Superman?
There was the recently announced casting of Diane Lane as Martha Kent, with the rumor of interest in Kevin Costner joining the cast as well, but this is the best. Viggo Mortensen as General Zod. Daniel Day-Lewis is also reportedly being looked at for the role.

Possible Hobbit film titles
TheOneRing.net reports that New Line Cinema recently registered the titles: The Hobbit: There and Back Again and The Hobbit: An/The Unexpected Journey, making these possible titles for the two parts of The Hobbit adaptation. Personally, I think it beats The Hobbit, Part I, and it actually seems perfect, considering the many titles that Bilbo's book had in The Lord of the Rings.
